Question 1

Can I still sign up?

Accepted Answer

No. The service for customers has ended and no new bots are created. The answers below describe how it worked while it ran.

Question 2

How did the bot work?

Accepted Answer

The bot traded fully automatically on AsterDex perpetuals using a proprietary strategy, and profits were compounded automatically. It traded at 1x, so no leverage and no liquidations, but it could not prevent every loss. Each bot ran on the user's own account.

Question 3

Could LazyEye access a user's money?

Accepted Answer

No. The money stayed in the user's own wallet on AsterDex, and the API key was trade-only: it let the bot open and close positions, but it could not withdraw or move funds. Withdrawal permissions were never required and were never to be enabled.

Question 4

Could positions get stuck?

Accepted Answer

They could. If the market moved against an open position, it stayed underwater until it recovered. Meanwhile the bot kept trading other coins, up to the maximum it held at once, so the rest carried on while that one waited. Such a recovery sometimes took a long time, and a loss was always possible.

Question 5

Was using the bot risky?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and we would rather say it plainly: investing always carries risk, and this bot was no exception. Profit was never guaranteed. LazyEye is not a regulated entity and does not provide financial, investment, or tax advice.

Question 6

What is AsterDex?

Accepted Answer

AsterDex is a decentralized exchange (DEX) on the BNB Smart Chain. The LazyEye bot ran on AsterDex Perpetuals, futures contracts without an expiry date. Funds stayed in the user's own wallet throughout. Visit AsterDex to learn more.

Question 7

Which coins did the bot trade?

Accepted Answer

USDT-margined perpetual contracts on AsterDex. Which pairs those were followed from the strategy and shifted over time with the market.

Question 8

What happened in a bear market?

Accepted Answer

A prolonged downtrend left open positions waiting longer for recovery. The bot held them and waited for the market to turn rather than locking in losses. In extreme cases a position was held for weeks or months. That was by design: the bot did not panic-sell.

Question 9

What happened if the bot went down?

Accepted Answer

The money always stayed in the user's own wallet on AsterDex, so an outage could not put it at risk. Exits were managed on our side, so an outage briefly paused active management; since the strategy held positions and waited anyway, that had no real effect. The bot restarted and reconnected automatically.
